Here's To The Freaking Weekend

Good Afternoon, Dolls!

I’m writing you from a pile of pillows, mountains of cough drops and my Roo dog snuggled up beside me. My darling sister graciously decided to share her head cold from hell with me, so here I am, trumpeting into tissues like an elephant and sipping hot tea. BUT, I am happy to report that my attitude is much better than my current physical state. Being cooped up in bed ensures that I’m getting lots of work done, and since it is grey and rainy, I kind of like it.

After Wednesday’s post I received so many incredibly kind and thoughtful emails and notes…thank you so much. I love how we are all struggling with something, whether it’s physically, emotionally or socially and the struggle brings us all together and lets us know that we are not alone. I love you Dolls!

What are your plans for the weekend? Anything new and exciting? I will hopefully put the finishing touches on my bedroom, complete an article I’m writing for a super cool magazine and chug green smoothies like they’re going out of style in the hopes of kicking this cold in the rear end! Here are some links for you to enjoy…

Buckaroo Barbie reader Lesile Elmore sent this article to our facebook page the other day thinking I would enjoy it....you were right Lesile, I love it! Thanks Doll!

If you're not aware of The Indie Chicks...you need to be. Start with this article, it's fan-freaking-tastic!!

Have you tried a green smoothie yet? They're an amazing way to consume LOADS of veggies all at once, they stabalize your blood sugar and they even taste amazing! Here's a beginner recipe for you to get started...tell me what you think!

Have you subscribed to our YouTube channel yet? I'm slowly but surely adding fashion and beauty videos...such girly-girl fun!

If you're in the Ventura area, go get your nails done at Elegant Nails! This is not a spa, but the girls are so nice and a manicure/pedicure will last me 2 weeks, not even kidding. Plus that, the prices are excellent. Ask for Dawn and tell her I sent you!

One of my favorite parts from my favorite movie, Bringing Up Baby...if you haven't seen it, shame on you. For shame.

In case you need a quick reminder....you are worth more than your bra size.

Although, you should never underestimate the importance of a well fitting bra!!

If you haven't already, please subscribe to this blog! All you have to do is click join site where it lists blog members....thank-you!

Here's To The Freaking Weekend

I wrote a link post for you all at 33,000 feet this afternoon and was planning on posting it as soon as we arrived at our hotel room. Upon landing, my phone started going off like crazy, full of concerned messages from friends and family wondering if my dad and I were OK. You’ve probably heard by this point that a ticketed passenger walked into LAX, pulled out a rifle and opened fire. He killed one TSA officer, and wounded several other people before he was finally shot in front of a Burger King. All of this took place literally THREE MINUTES after our plane pulled away from the gate. I am so incredibly thankful that we are safe and my heart hurts so badly for those affected by the attack. The way timing in this world works out sometimes is simply amazing and there are countless people stuck still at the airport and who won’t be going anywhere any time soon. It seems almost frivolous to be thankful to make my friend’s wedding when there are people hurting right now, but thankful I am!!

Anyway, what are your plans for the weekend? Anything out of the ordinary? I am planning on doing some sight seeing, dancing like a fool at the wedding and enjoying to the fullest the one on one time I have with my dad. He’s the best date I’ve ever had.  I can’t wait to show you all the pictures!

Here are some links from around the web for you to enjoy…

I bought this Chanel red lipstick in #40 last night for the wedding and I’m already obsessed. It’s almost oxblood, and very vampy.

A sassy, no nonsense article on the women you should be marrying. I have to say I agree with her on many points.

Read this oldie but a goodie since it's the first day of the Thankful month.

30 no equipment needed Crossfit workouts. Perfect timing since I have let my fitness routine slide the last few weeks from battling pneumonia and then a cold. Time to get back at it, Liz!
