Christmas Party Outfit Inspiration: How To Wear Sequins

Good evening Dolls! I’m sitting in front of the fire, dogs scattered at my feet and I just finished doing something I never in a million years thought I would ever do: I gave my father a lesson on how to use Twitter. Every year that Christmas rolls around I swear up, down and sideways that I’m going to dress in head to toe white, like some chic woman from the 40’s. 

It never happens. 

This year I think I want to wear sequins. Specifically, a sequined mini skirt with a big slouchy sweater to tone it down some. How festive would that be? And since Adrian and I are headed to a Parade of Lights party next week, I think that might be the perfect place to bust out the sequined, mini skirt of my dreams!

Remember, if you wear a short or sparkly skirt, offset the wow factor a little by the top you choose. Don't pick something that shows cleavage or is super tight. A t-shirt or a chunky sweater will balance out the sexiness of a short skirt and you will look classy instead of skanky. Always leave a little something to the imagination, Dolls! 

If you want to try sequins out but a skirt or shirt is just too much for you, try something small like a clutch or even a shimmery lipstick. Style is not about trends or feeling uncomfortable in what you're wearing. It's about expressing yourself through your clothing and adding your own little touch that makes it all yours.
