Dear Darling Heart,
Don’t buy into the sultry whisperings the world has to
offer. Ignore the teachings of those who would make you believe that you are
only worthwhile if you have a certain relationship, weigh a certain number or
have a certain job.
Listen to the steady beat of your own heart, and if you
remain true to who you are, you won’t fail in life. Sure, you’ll make mistakes
and you might even mess up big time once or twice. But if you maintain the
Youness of You and keep your course pointed on who you really are inside, you
will go far. The other people of the world won’t be able to help but notice how
genuine and real you are, and they will be drawn to and inspired by your inner
light.
Nothing is more attractive to people than an individual who
is not afraid to be exactly who they really are. Everyone is a copy these days….a
version of Taylor Swift, a version of an actress, a version of anything OTHER
than themselves. Go ahead and be you. There is nothing more satisfying feeling
than the knowledge that you are on the track that God set out in front of you,
that you are utilizing the gifts you were given and owning up to all of your
delicious weirdness! Not only do YOU become more successful when you believe in the
real you, but you inspire other people to be genuine as well.
Dear Darling Heart, you have so much to offer: to yourself
and to the rest of the world. If you want to reach your full potential, be
real. Be you.

ReplyDeleteSara, you're so kind....thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed and a very, very Merry Christmas to you too! :)
DeleteI love this! I spent the whole day outside, first in tornado like winds that I could barely walk in, then shivering in snow. It was bautiful! I had my funny looking, ball topped scotch cap, most of my hair had blown out of my braid, and all of my eye makeup was wiped off bc I had all kinds of gunk in them! Then.we went to the little restaurant in town for lunch. Saw a few ladies we knew, the one, who was perfectly put together asked why I even had a hair tie in. well, because some of its tied back! But ya know what, I enjoyed the wildly.wind blown look! This was great!!!
ReplyDeleteAmanda, you were a busy gal!! Sounds like you had a great day and I know you rocked the windblown look! :)
DeleteI think so many people, especially women and girls struggle with trying to be or thinking they need to be someone else. It's really too bad as we are all such awesome and unique individuals. The world really would be a boring place if everybody was just like everybody else. Thankfully there are those cowboy-girls who wear pearls with their armitas, girls that look like Marilyn Monroe rocking a guitar in a punk rock band, and anybody and everybody tough enough, creative enough, an confident enough to be themselves!
ReplyDeleteLOVED THIS!!! Agree, agree, agree! :) Hugs and Merry Christmas!
DeleteWOW!! This is truly amazing and so inspirational!! Like Crystal I'm glad I came across your blog! Earlier this month I had finals for my college writing class and we got to pick from several topics to write our final paper. We just had a few hours to write a short essay and the topic I chose was "Write about a person you like and why" I thought about several people and I ended up writing about you!! I talked about the different ways you and your blog are so special and have influenced me. Keep up the awesome work!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Erin, you have no idea how much this means to me! Like, I'm literally sitting here crying, that touched me so much! Thank you so much, I'm so glad you like Buckaroo Barbie :) Merry Christmas!
DeleteWhat a great message!! You could not have posted this at a better time!! So glad I found your blog:) Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Katlyn, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Merry, merry Christmas to you too! :)
