Throwin Horseshoes at the Moon

Life is going to be moving along at a pretty good clip in these next few months. A and I are back from a much needed week at home. There was a lot of the mum’s cooking, riding the fat ponies, roping the dummy and those comforting, long talks with your parents that make your heart smile. Even though it rained and blew like a hurricane almost the whole time, I never want to leave when it’s time.

This week and the next Adrian has shows down in Socal and then the summer seems to be filled to the brim with road trips galore, destinations filled with bronc rides and broncy music. It’s going to be a great summer. What are your plans Dolls?

I made some new goals for the summer, one of which is to pretty much put a halt on my braiding orders and braid for…ME! I get cranky and insecure with my braiding sometimes and I need enough new gear that I plan to really test some ideas out. I already feel more excited about some upcoming projects! I finished a hackmore I was braiding (yes, I know it’s not a hackmore until you put a mecate on it. Honestly, I don’t like the word bosal and so I call my bosals...“hackmores”. Yes, I’m weird. Sorry.) while I was up at the mums and dad’s, and it was a good feeling to tie my mecate on it. I gave it to my dad, who has given more gear to me down through the years than you would think possible. It’ll be fun to watch him use it. Next up? Finish a shoo-fly for a Buckaroo Barbie who has been waiting patiently for me to hurry up and finish it…and then I’m thinking some reins. Yes, reins would be nice. J

Hope you Dolls have a wonderful Sunday tomorrow!

  3. I try to set some sort of goal/summer activity to accomplish. I married into a family of cowboys and so this year it's my goal to become a better rider and learn to rope! So if you got any tips for this little gal that would be great! :)

  4. I feel the same way about the word "bosal". It just sounds akward for me to say 99% of the time. I always figured I was wrong or silly for my preference of terms. Glad I'm not the only one. Heehee!
