This will make Buckaroo Barbie’s 365th posting.
Holy Moses, how I have fallen in love with this blog and each and every one of
you readers. It has become my baby and an inspiration to myself to keep trying
to become the very best of the best, because I know that you are all out there
doing the exact same thing. You are my inspiration. Thank-you.
Last month I got a somewhat snarky comment saying that while
Adrian and I are beautiful, we don’t know everything there is to know about
life and I’d like to use that to lead into a question I have for you all: what
do you love about Buckaroo Barbie and why do you read it? I’m guessing that the
person who felt like I came across as a know-it-all isn’t getting what they
need from Buckaroo Barbie, and I’d like to remedy that. I write about the
things I care about: being an in-charge woman, fashion, character and relationships.
But this blog is no longer about me, or Adrian or just cowgirls. It’s about
women out there who want to be something more in life, who want to be the very
best of the best. It’s for the women who have felt their hearts break and
wondered if they would ever recover. It’s for the women who need to hear that
there are other women out there like
them and that yes, it is OK to be different.
So maybe what you
need to hear is totally different from what I have posted lately. Let’s change
that. What would you like to see more
of? More DIY posts? Less fashion posts and more how-to beauty advice? More
videos and less text?
Talk to me Dolls, I
want to hear your voices!!!
xo xo Liz
Just blog as you and everyone (except the snarkys) will get something from it! You do an amazing job!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mama Lundy, I am trying!! :)
DeleteYou can only be you. if someone doesn't like it that's on them, not you. I think you girls are very wise.
DeleteI love your blog! I SO disagree with that person. The thing I love about it is how real it is. You're not fake! So many "cowgirls" get so caught up in being a cowgirl, that they forget to enjoy being a girl! I love that you can post about doctoring sicks, mascara, fashion, and broken hearts....because that's who we really are. And I have never once thought that you or your sister seem like know-it-alls. If anything, I would say you post both your ups and your downs..which sometimes surpass understanding. Sounds like someones sour grapes to me! Keep posting!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteBrooke, I can't tell you how excited I am that you feel that it's real! I feel so encouraged that you like the cowboy/fashion/relationship vibe....onwards and upwards! :)
DeleteI wouldn't change a thing! If it was about me, it would be my blog
ReplyDeleteDon't change for noone, that's why o like your posts! If we were all the same what a boring world we would be living in! Good Mon guys keep up the good work and yes, you are beautiful! People can see and fill a good heart and I definitely fill yours! Have fun and enjoy cause we are never promised tomorrow!
Such a good point Rydell, what a boring world it would be! Thank you, seriously, so much for taking the time to read this post and comment. I really want to know what you all think and I appreciate it! I will keep it up!
DeleteI enjoy reading you and Buckaroo Barbie's blogs. Your words and way of life really speak to me and your positive writing is a breath of fresh air. You capture the things I enjoy in your descriptions perfectly. So please don't change anything and keep doing what you're doing. Keep writing about anything that inspires you, and it is a guarantee that what is created will be unique and insightful. You and your sister's confidence shines through y'all's words, which is something to be celebrated. Hopefully, everyone can get to a point where they feel comfortable with themselves and live life with gratitude and abandon no matter what they are facing.
ReplyDeleteYour words are like a good shot in the arm!! Thank you so much Jade! :) I want this blog to inspire women and for them to feel like this is a place where we're all in this together....thank you so much for the encouragement! :)
DeleteI meant I really enjoy reading yours and Adrian Buckaroogirl's blogs, since you are Buckaroo Barbie!
ReplyDeleteI knew exactly what you meant! ;)
DeleteDon't change a thing!!! You being you and writing about whatever comes to mind is what keeps all of us BB groupies checking 10 times a day to see if you have made a blog post, hahaha!! I wouldn't waste a single thought about a person giving you negative comments. You are an amazing person and there needs to be more like you in the world!! Love ya woman!!!
ReplyDeleteI love you woman, you're the best friend a girl could have! :) Thanks for advice!!
DeleteAs I have said before your blogs are inspirational. They make me think! They help me to change my mood when I seem to be in a funk! I find them refreshing! We live in a time of fast paced lifestyles where nobody seems to "live life". Nobody slows down enough to see the beauty that surrounds them or listens to their own soul to nurture what their mind and body need! Liz you just keep posting your totally awesome blogs and I will keep sharing them with the amazing women in my life who truely enjoy them! -Sara Lowe
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sara for taking the time to read and comment, seriously!! I am so glad you find something in the posts, I can't even describe how much this blog and everyone has come to mean to me!
DeleteI just love your blog. The title is Buckaroo Barbie, it doesn't give off any other impression, it is what you make it! It's Your blog, write what you want, if some people don't like it, then it's not the blog for them. I'm sure you get plenty of emails asking about certain things, and I've read several posts that were in response to said requests. I love reading what you write. You're inspring and someone I look up to. Keep doing your thing lady!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Amanda!! YOU'RE inspiring to me with how you have stuck out school even though it's so hard to be away from the country and people you love. I keep thinking about your bum knee when I work out, hope you're healing up! :)
DeleteKeep doing what you do best! I love being able to sit down after a work day and just read through the days post! Everyone is entitled to an opinion, let the haters keep hating and having spite in their hearts and minds.
ReplyDeleteKeep on rockin' Buckaroo Barbie!
xoxo
That seriously warms the cockles of my heart thinking about you reading Buckaroo Barbie after a long day at work!! That is exactly what I hope for this blog! Thank you for the love Jo!! :)
DeleteOh yes very nice kinda but not really but yes really but at the same time kinda but ya.... So yup ,,,butt kinda more so blah blah blah
ReplyDeleteThere is only one person in the world I know who talks like this....thanks Chase :)
DeleteAs a 60 year old woman, I love reading your blog because you girls are grounded in an ethic of hard work, while enjoying what each day has to offer. I can't tell you how much I admire you and honestly, anything you post, I will read because it obviously comes from your heart.
ReplyDeleteKaren, thank you so much!! I desperately want Buckaroo Barbie to be relevant to women of all age groups and from all walks of life, this brings me hope! And it does come from my heart, so glad that comes across! Thank you for taking the time to read the blog and comment! I really appreciate it! :)
DeleteBe true to yourself, Liz! Don't be who everyone wants you to be. Be you because that's who God created you to be. I've found through blogging as well it let's me be me. You're not out there to please everyone else or show "hey look at how much better am than everyone else". You're out their to express your feelings and opinions with everyone, allowed to have under the first amendment. To sum it all up, stay true to you!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Please continue to blog beauty and quotes because I love that :)
I love how through Buckaroo Barbie I have "met" or come into contact with so many women who are celebrating who they are and encouraging other women to do so as well! Thank you Wenya! And I totally love knowing what it is you specifically like about the blog, thank you! :)
DeleteLiz, You and your blog are amazing and I know I've said it many times before but you have really helped me through some tough times. By reading your blog and hearing your struggles and successes helps me realize that i'm human and these things happen to everyone. I envy you and your sister's life as a cowboy/girls and through you i've been able to learn so much about your amazing life. You have taught me so much and you are someone who I extremely admire. Please don't change a thing about you or your blog. One thing that makes you stand out is that you live your life for you and you don't care what anyone else things. I admire that most about you.
ReplyDeleteSo keep on being yourself and just ignore the critics!!
<3 Erin :)
Erin, I've said it before but I always look forward to your comments! Thank you so much! And I appreciate knowing that the cowboy lifestyle is something you enjoy reading about, thank you! We'll just keep on truckin on :) Hugs!
DeleteI love the text posts, and the things that come across as big sisterly advice. I love the wisdom and celebration of what makes y'all unique, and what makes us unique. Your writing is very insightful, and it feels like talking to a friend! I love that and it's why I continue to read.

ReplyDeleteYou got it!! Thank you! ;)
DeleteLiz,
ReplyDeleteYou inspire me. I wish I had your moxy when I was your age. You and Adrian are who you are and you are ok with that. I'm getting there ;).
Cindy, you have given me a new word I'm in love with...moxy....awesome!!! Thank you so much and you are an awesome example of a Buckaroo Barbie. Thank you for reading.

ReplyDeleteI love your inspirational quotes, DIY posts and great photos! I don't have internet at my home and I look forward to new posts any time I do get access. Also know that your blog is loved by those of us that aren't fulltime cowgirls- in the summers I'm a wildland firefighter, and have helped night calve, doctor cows, move pairs and fixed tons of fence in the winters with my husband. I think all of us that follow your posts see ourselves as Buckaroo Barbies too regardless of what pays our bills- keep up the great blog!
ReplyDeleteAnon, thank you so much for taking the time to read Buckaroo Barbie when you do get internet! Wow! And that brings up something that we really want Buckaroo Barbie to mean....it's not just for cowgirls or defined by what you do....it's about who you are inside. :) And btw, I am in awe of you wildland firefighters!! That is tough, scary work I've been told! Stay safe! <3
DeleteWould like to say as a male reader, i appreciate your blog. I have missed some im sure, but when i read i appreciate the content. Stay real, stay you. Those who cast a stone are truly jealous that they dont have the courage to speak there own mind in such a manner that receives such positive feed back. Keep going as you have been I enjoy it. ReplyDeleteI am more a Ken than a Barbie...and most likely a piss poor buckaroo but I really like your blog....sure some don't apply to my interests but I love how you embrace your life...even the hard parts......I like to have my daughter read it as she is a reporter for Deseret news and I love the way you weave a story or emotion with your words.....stay with it....
ReplyDeleteYou girls are a huge inspiration that influences women spanning several eras. So, PLEASE, don't change a darned thing about what you are doing! Being individuals who aren't trying to fit in with a specific crowd is what makes you two so amazing and gives hope to the younger generations while allowing retrospect to those of us of the more aged variety. I have always felt myself to be a chameleon of sorts who enjoys every color of skin that I choose to wear at any given moment. We should all be so proud to have diverse interests and for those who don't, they can maybe enjoy someone else's blog. That's one of the greatest things about this technological age....there's something out there for everyone. You two are happy in your own skin and I'm darned proud of what you guys are doing for women out there. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteYOU GALS ROCK MY SOCK OFF! I love what you post! What would l like more of.... motivational inspirational stuff. You are doing a very good job. Keep up the Great WORK!
ReplyDeleteYou got it!! And I'm so glad you dig Buckaroo Barbie! Thanks for the feedback Anita, seriously! And don't forget to enter our giveaway!! :)
