Youer Than You

True.

You’re absolutely right…

I hardly ever do my hair. Just leave it all big and messy and frizzy the way it is.

My nose has a grand old bump in it.

One eye is part brown.

My legs are entirely too long.

I laugh continuously and even more when I get nervous. Which is a lot of the time.

I twirl in real life.

It takes me ELEVEN long, painful, gasping, wheezing, totally unsexy minutes for me to run a mile.

I have an odd ability to walk into walls.

I sometimes skip to keep up with the men in my life. Can’t help it, it just happens.

I’d really rather just read during breakfast, if you don’t mind.

I flinch every time I pull the trigger as the result of getting scoped when I was a kid…you’d think I’d have gotten over it by now.

I’m not scared OF the dark, I just don’t trust what’s IN the dark, if you get my gist.

I love to hunt. I have no desire to go cat hunting. There, I said it.

After a lot of coaching, prodding and pinching from Adrian, I can bluff my way through talking to more than three people without fainting or running away. I DON’T LIKE IT THOUGH.

I don’t get what people are talking about when they say rawhide stinks. I can’t smell it…

A lined notebook and a good ink pen makes my heart laugh like almost no other.

I find music that I like, then I listen to it over and over and over and over overandoverandoverandover….

But the thing of it is, all those things make me….ME. An imperfect, bouncing, laughing bundle of me-ness.

What makes you inherently you? What makes you tick? Or cr, or dance? All those random things, the not so great and the fantastic, make you the limited edition, amazing person that you are. No one else can be YOU like YOU. No one else can live your life with the STYLE that you do. You're doing a great job, don't give up.

I just thought you should remember that…J

  1. LOVE THIS! :)
I fully enjoy my long legs, at 5'11" I almost never need a step stool. Although Im sadly uncoordinated most of the time. I too flinch every time I shoot, I also blink. I scoped myself w/a 30.06, probably why I love the open sights on my. 243. I went cat hunting Once, at night in the rain. NEVER AGAIN! I feel like when I smile, which is Always that I show more gum than teeth. I hate running on account of my voluptuous woman-ness. I have a Super soft spot for just about All animals. And while not a hoarder I seriously dislike to get rid of things that still have value. Replaying favorite music? Yea, I do that All the time with your sisters music! But I always have fun and thoroughly enjoy how loud I am!

  2. I really do love me pretty much just the way I am!!...though it does take me 11 exceedingly long minutes to run a mile also...that was the time I averaged in my last marathon...I have to say pretty proud of myself...considering I am probably 3 times older than you...ok..maybe 2 1/2..ha! doesn't matter...keep on keeping on!

    1. I am in awe of you marathoners!! WOW! That's a goal of mine, but I'm not sure when to put a time frame on it because I go between feeling great and then struggling with Lyme which sometimes cuts my running back. Thanks for the encouragement, I'll think of you running 20 plus miles the next time I want to give up! :)

  5. My friend, bpl, brought this little jewel you created to my attention. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I, too, had a flinching problem from being scoped as a young kid. I hunt with open sites to this day because of it. (: This was wonderful and brilliant!
